Arsenal Team News vs Aston Villa – Any Knocks or Injuries?

It would appear that fatigue is going to be the Gunners’ biggest enemy when they make the trip up to Birmingham on Saturday, with the short turnover time between matches, especially with one of them coming against a side of Liverpool’s quality, exhausting for anyone.

Mikel Arteta knows this, with his substitutions clearly reflecting what and who he wants to play in the game.

Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette all came off in the defeat to Liverpool, with none of the players seeming to have any issues, and instead them coming off to give some rest before the weekend.

The situation is as you were with injuries as Takehiro Tomiyasu remains the only absentee. However, speaking recently, Arteta provided some welcome news on the right-back.

"“We have been trying to push him, but with the handbrake a little bit because we need to be careful as we don’t want to get another injury with him,” he revealed."

Hope is that he may be fit, although the international break looks set to be his chance to recover further.

As for the hosts, Calum Chambers is hoping to be fit to face his old side after picking up a blow to the face against West Ham, while Lucas Digne will miss out with a hamstring injury and Douglas Luiz is another doubt with another facial injury.
