3 main targets for Arsenal during the international break
3. Maintain the Spirit in the Camp
There is clearly a very positive mood in and around London Colney because that unity is being transmitted on the pitch and over to the fans every week.
When you look at the other sides chasing top four you have Spurs and their world class forward duo, as well as Manchester United and their hundreds of millions of pounds worth of talent. As for Arsenal, their USP is arguably the connection within the camp and the fans.
Granted, most of the senior group aren’t there to be involved, so the task at hand is to maintain that joyous spirit when the age groups blend over the coming weeks.
The cultural change isn’t just with the first team, it’s something across the whole of the club and keeping the atmosphere as it has been with the seniors is important in order to cultivate the right mindset in all those coming through the academy.
As a sidenote, it also might be worth having a strong word with Eddie Nketiah. His lacklustre (being kind) cameo against Villa was unacceptable, and whether or not his head is elsewhere already, the fact is that he will probably be needed at some stage over the next ten games and jogging around hardheartedly is wrong on every level.
Need distinctly more than that from the fringe players. It’s not good enough.
