Mohamed Elneny (CM) – You can’t take him out of the team, surely?

Out of nowhere Elneny has added a new dimension to his game. No longer just doing ‘Elneny things’, he’s now being progressive with the ball, dropping shoulders and trying to push his side forward.

Granit Xhaka (CM) – This partnership is somewhat unorthodox. It wasn’t expected that Elneny would be the one partnering Xhaka in midfield again, but while it’s working and giving the team balance there is no reason to break it up.

For Xhaka’s part, he’s been excellent over recent games.

Martin Odegaard (AM) – While he thrives as the left No. 8 when Partey is playing, the return of the double pivot is pushing him up closer to the goal where he can rekindle his blossoming connection with Saka.
