Arsenal Team News vs Leeds – Benjamin White Injury Concern

When the lineups were announced for the West Ham game there was a mixture of elation and despair.

Back in the starting lineup after nearly 100 days was Takehiro Tomiyasu, who immediately demonstrated his quality with some excellent one-on-one defending and aerial domination. Oh how he has been missed.

He eventually fell to the floor clutching his troubling calf, which caused serious concern, and it was a similar case with Bukayo Saka who also was unable to continue. It’s not the first time of late where the star boy has been suffering.

Fortunately, Arteta was buoyant over the pair.

"“Bukayo was fine, he was really fatigued and he has been through a little injury as well,” the manager said. “Tomiyasu has just that he had been out for so long and could not continue. No, hopefully, he [Tomi] is fine.”"

While not out of the woods, that is nonetheless reassuring news. However, it wasn’t the case for the seemingly indestructible Benjamin White, who was left out of the squad with a tight hamstring and is awaiting further news from some scans.

As for the visitors, they will certainly be missing Stuart Dallas who suffered a femoral fracture against Manchester City, and he could miss the majority of 2022.

They also remain without central defender Liam Cooper, striker Patrick Bamford, a key duo for them, as well as Crysencio Summerville, Adam Forshaw, and Tyler Roberts.
