3. Three-game losing streak to Palace, Brighton, and Southampton
Arsenal were sitting pretty inside the top four and even had a sneaky eye on third-placed Chelsea before a run of three games that one could argue cost them Champions League football.
Coming into the match with Crystal Palace, Arsenal had won six out of their last seven games, with the only loss coming again to Liverpool.
It was all there for the young Gunners to stake their top-four ambitions and drive home their points and games advantage (at times, they had games in hand and were several points clear in fourth). Instead, what ensued in April cost them dearly.
Three consecutive losses to Palace (3-0), Brighton at home (2-1), and Southampton (1-0) brought them well and truly back to the pack. Arsenal could not have played worse during those three games, conceding six goals and scoring just once.
