This penalty had so much more meaning than just any other penalty in a match.

After Saka’s miss in the Euros final to give Italy the win last summer, it would’ve been very easy for him to shirk responsibility when handed the opportunity to seal a memorable victory at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners were 3-2 up when Cesar Azpilicueta was adjudged to have fouled the England international in the Chelsea box.

Saka, though, proved his mettle as he stepped up to score the penalty he won, sending the imposing Edouard Mendy the wrong way for good measure. At 20 years old, Saka already has the mentality of a champion. This felt like a significant moment in his blossoming young career.
