The Norwegian has proved to be quite the leader himself since taking over captain duties from Lacazette, who took the reins after Aubameyang left the club. At just 23 years old, like Tierney, Odegaard is on the young side but has shown in the second half of the year that he is a leader on the pitch.

While not especially vocal (which is what Arsenal need at times), the former Real Madrid star leads with his exquisite skills on the pitch. His body feints, ability to pick out a pass in the final third, and work rate show that he can be the captain that Arsenal needs.

Having all the intangibles to become a captain, Arteta could see the Norwegian as the guy to take on the responsibility next season, having already given him a substantial run last season.

If Arteta sticks with Martin Odegaard, there would be no qualms about his choice as the 23-year-old has already shown that he is up to leading this great club.
