Gabriel’s career-high goals return (five) and 13 clean sheets helped him to a very handy 146-point haul in 2021/22.

The Brazilian wasn’t exactly a popular choice – he was selected by just over 7% of all FPL users despite his rather cheap value – but his availablity ensured that managers were satisfied. Gabriel started every single Premier League game for the Gunners post-Matchday 3.

This helped him almost double his points tally from 2020/21 (78) as his total minutes increased from 1,996 to 3.063.

The Arsenal man was the ninth-highest scoring defender last season, and the fifth most productive centre-back.
