We are on the verge of the opening of the summer transfer window and Arsenal are once again set to be an active participant after they made six summer additions last time around.

Their work last summer was met with much dismay, but the signings of Benjamin White, Aaron Ramsdale and Takehiro Tomiyasu all proved to be shrewd pieces of business by the club as Mikel Arteta’s revolution continued at the Emirates.

However, there are some gaps in the squad for Arsenal as we head into next season. So, in this piece, we’ll take a look at how those gaps can be filled via the transfer market.

Arsenal’s biggest need for this summer is the striker position. Arsenal can take a massive step up in offensive production next season with a player who can finish chances and offer far more than what Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have given the Gunners in terms of output next season and beyond.

Arsenal have been linked with a plethora of striker targets but with the first ‘signing’ likely being an Eddie Nketiah contract extension, it can make the transfer business more streamlined. Eddie will add a lot as the second striker, and I am very excited to see him in a bigger role next season.

The most likely option for the striker signing seems to be Gabriel Jesus. There have been plenty of concrete links to the Brazilian with David Ornstein having him as Arsenal’s ‘first priority.’ Jesus would be a wonderful signing for Arsenal, having worked with Arteta before at City. He is a player that would fit well into the system.

Arsenal have also been linked with the likes of Tammy Abraham, Victor Osimhen, and Dominic Calvert Lewin among others. But with Eddie resigning and Jesus looking very likely, I believe that those two will emerge as the club’s striker options next season.
