Thomas Partey – B+

The Ghanaian was central to everything good Arsenal did and was vital in the club’s eight-game unbeaten run after the horror start. He netted his first goal in Arsenal colours against Aston Villa. He played 26 games in all competitions, and a thigh injury forced him to miss the last nine games of the year. Overall, a good season for the 28-year-old, and had he been fit towards the end, Arsenal may well be in the Champions League.

Bukayo Saka – A+

There isn’t much that hasn’t already been said about our star boy. He dazzled and amazed us week after week and showed what a superb talent he is. He played all 38 league games, scored 11 times, and had seven assists. A Player of the Year candidate. Central to everything Arsenal does.

Martin Odegaard – A+

The Norwegian was simply breathtaking at times as he dazzled us repeatedly. He scored seven times and laid on five assists in all competitions. He ranked fourth in the league for key passes (76) as he was Arsenal’s creative genius. Handed the armband late on and showed how highly he is thought of. Outstanding season.

Emile Smith Rowe – B

A solid season for the 21-year-old that ended with ten Premier League goals. He scored in three consecutive games twice as he went through a good patch of form. That dipped towards the end of the season as he registered just two goals from his last 13 games with no assists but showed enough to suggest he can do great things.

Albert Sambi Lokonga – C

The 22-year-old showed plenty of promise during his start to life in north London. His eye for a pass and ability to move the team forward caught the eye of many. Most of his 24 appearances in all competitions came before Christmas as he was reduced to a bystander thereafter due to Arsenal’s lack of games. Plenty to build on.

Mohamed Elneny – C

The Egyptian played just 14 games in all competitions as he was a bystander for most of the year until Partey’s injury. He was then forced to become a significant player for Mikel Arteta as he started the last seven games and played reasonably well. He was rewarded with a new contract. Overall, a good depth player for the Gunners.

Granit Xhaka – B

The much-maligned Swiss international had a somewhat underrated season. There was the usual red card, but Xhaka was a solid player for Mikel Arteta for the most part. His MCL injury saw him miss eight games, but he was a picture of consistency once he returned as he played 90 minutes in 21 of the last 23 games. A solid season from the Swiss.
