First things first, we have to note that Yves Bissouma hasn’t yet been cleared of sexual assault following his arrest last October. Until the case is resolved, Arsenal simply cannot risk pursuing the Brighton midfielder.

However, Bissouma’s recent social media activity has got a heap of Gooners excited over his future plans. The Mali international hinted that a move to north London could be in order, although no concrete links are suggesting that Arsenal are even interested in the midfielder.

Nevertheless, he would be a brilliant option for Arteta due to his capacity to function as both a #6 and #8. Thus, Bissouma could provide cover for the perenially injured Thomas Partey, while also being able to operate higher up in the left half-space and contribute to Arsenal’s attack.

The 25-year-old is comfortable receiving possession under pressure, and he boasts the requisite press resistance to evade onrushing tacklers. Bissouma combines grace and power to devastating effect, with his all-around game impressive. The midfielder will contribute in all phases, and he is undoubtedly good enough to make the next big step in his career this summer.
