While he is much closer to the starting team than others on this list, a big campaign still awaits Eddie Nketiah as he tries to build on his recent run of form and possibly cement his status as first-choice striker.

Nketiah notched a commendable five goals in his eight Premier League starts last season and has always retained Arteta’s faith even when minutes were hard to come by, which was reified by the recent offer of a new five-year contract that will soon be announced.

The point has therefore already been proven to his superiors, but there are likely some supporters who are not convinced that a continuation of his Arsenal journey is more beneficial than buying a forward, with his extension reducing the need to acquire two new strikers.

He was prolific when part of the club’s youth sides and remains England’s greatest goal-scorer at the Under-21 level, so his clinical edge must now translate to the Emirates and the off season will give an indication of what we can expect.
