September

Matchday 7 (10/09/2022) — 15:00 Arsenal v Everton
Matchday 8 (17/09/2022) — 15:00 Brentford v Arsenal

The first game against a ‘Big Six’ rival arrives in the first week of September as Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United await at Old Trafford. It’s a ground where Arsenal have had some success in recent years, but they were beaten 3-2 there last season.

In between the United and Everton games, Arsenal will play their first Europa League group game on the Thursday night.

The month concludes with a tricky return to the Brentford Community Stadium, where Arteta will be hopeful that he has a full complement of players available after his depleted side were bullied there in a 2-0 defeat last August.

October

Matchday 9 (01/10/2022) — 15:00 Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur
Matchday 10 (08/10/2022) — 15:00 Arsenal v Liverpool
Matchday 11 (15/10/2022) — 15:00 Leeds United v Arsenal
Matchday 12 (18/10/2022) — 19:45 Arsenal v Manchester City
Matchday 13 (22/10/2022) — 15:00 Southampton v Arsenal
Matchday 14 (29/10/2022) — 15:00 Arsenal v Nottingham Forest

Okay, here we go. The season really gets going in October.

The Emirates North London Derby has once again been harmlessly placed midway through the first half of the season before Liverpool make the long trip south a week later in what’s a tricky seven days for Arteta’s men. Arsenal’s third Europa League group game is scheduled to take place between those two crunch domestic clashes.

Following a trip to Elland Road, Arteta will get his first chance of the season to finally get one over Pep Guardiola as the champions travel down to north London for Arsenal’s first scheduled midweek league fixture.

The Gunners have the chance to take three major scalps at home in October before they visit Southampton and host Nottingham Forest in a pair of winnable fixtures. Five of Arsenal’s six Europa League group games would’ve been played by the end of the month.
