Youri Tielemans’ proposed move to Arsenal is reportedly set to move rather quickly now that the international break is over.

The Gunners’ pursuit of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans has been going on for what feels like forever. Arsenal have long been linked with the Leicester man, but no official bids have come in for the 25-year-old.

The international break was reportedly the main reason why the situation has dragged on. Now that it is over, with the midfielder starring for the Red Devils, several reports are flying around suggesting that the deal could and should be concluded relatively quickly.

Arsenal are expected to quickly wrap up a deal for midfielder Youri Tielemans

CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs was a guest on The Done Deal Show with Terry Flowers and stated that he expects the deal for Tielemans to be completed rather swiftly.

"“Arsenal started talking to Tielemans’ camp in the summer of last year,” Jacobs said.“Now, Arsenal are in regular conversations. Personal terms will not be a problem, it’s all about the fee. Now the international break has ended, I expect this deal to be wrapped up quickly.”"

These sentiments were echoed by Jordan Blackwell, a Leicester City correspondent, who was asked by football.london when he thinks the deal could be completed.

"“If this is a deal that’s going to happen, It will absolutely happen before the first game of the season,” Blackwell said.“A couple of years ago there was the experiment with the transfer window ending before the season started, obviously we’re back now to the end of August.”"

So by all accounts, there is a common thought that Arsenal will be quick in wrapping up a deal for the Belgian. That is excellent news, if accurate, as he will arrive at the start of the pre-season and be available for the Gunners’ summer fixtures.

While some time off for Tielemans will be granted, given that the beginning of the league season is under two months away, he should be ready to go for the first game of the campaign.

Once the Tielemans deal gets sorted, Arsenal will surely turn their attention to securing the services of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

Since the transfer window opened a couple of days ago, it has been torture for Arsenal fans, but it finally looks like things are moving in the right direction.
