3. September 3 – Manchester United (A)

Arsenal will make the trip into enemy territory for this once blockbuster clash. During the early 2000s, this was THE game on the calendar. Not so much anymore, given both sides are not the powerhouses they once were, but the fixture is still one of the highlights.

Arsenal doesn’t have a good track record at Old Trafford, winning just two of their last ten meetings at the Theatre of Dreams. Over those ten games, Arsenal has scored 11 goals while conceding 14.

It is worth noting that the previous time Arsenal featured at Old Trafford, they took the lead thanks to Emile Smith Rowe but they eventually fell to a 3-2 defeat.

This game will be the Gunners’ first proper test of the season, and one that, if they win, could set the tone for the rest of the season. Lose and those same demons Arsenal have when it comes to facing the big players of the league will remain as fresh as ever.
