2. Declan Rice

Thomas Partey, when fit and firing, is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. His intelligent tackling combines with progressive passing to create a monster of a midfielder. The mobility and quality he provides are unparalleled among those at the club who play in the centre of the park (besides Martin Odegaard).

Granit Xhaka is an excellent midfielder but is ill-suited to his new box-to-box role. Reinforcements need to be brought in. Enter Declan Rice. The West Ham man has impressed for a few years now. His passing range is excellent as are his driving runs with the ball. The pure athleticism Rice boasts is exceptional.

He would play well alongside Partey in the base of midfield, instantly elevating the level of the starting XI. Rice’s intangible qualities would come to the fore as well, with his work ethic and leadership proving invaluable in an otherwise difficult rebuild.

The English player is also acclimated to the Premier League and would not need time to adapt. He is an experienced international, playing with the likes of Ben White and Bukayo Saka already.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, David Moyes values him at around €150m. One to keep an eye on? Probably not.
