Arsenal are still hopeful of striking deals for Brazilian duo Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha, but their interest in Youri Tielemans has cooled.

The Gunners’ summer burst into life at the end of last week as Fabio Vieira’s impending arrival from Porto stunned absolutely everybody. The Portuguese midfielder has completed his medical with the club and is set to be unveiled in the coming days.

Arsenal are also said to have made progress in their pursuit of Manchester City striker Jesus, while their interest in Raphinha is firm. GOAL España reported on Monday that Barcelona were out of the running for the Leeds winger, with Arsenal hopeful of wrapping up a deal by the end of the week.

However, this report appears to be incredibly optimistic

Updates on Arsenal’s key transfer targets

Although, GOAL’s Charles Watts understands that the club are hopeful of striking a deal with Leeds for Raphinha. But, I expect this to be a drawn-out pursuit with Leeds demanding top dollar for their star man.

Fabrizio Romano believes it might take a fee in the region of £65m to convince Leeds to sell.

Arsenal have also been locked in negotiations with Manchester City for Jesus. The Cityzens are demanding £50m for the Brazilian’s services, but the Gunners’ opening proposal was believed to be worth just £30m. However, there’s still hope that an agreement can be reached between the two clubs with Watts writing that we’re approaching a critical time in determining Jesus’ future.

The player’s representatives are travelling to England to push through a transfer.

While Raphinha and Jesus are two names Arsenal are actively pursuing, the club’s interest in Youri Tielemans has cooled. Watts writes that other targets have taken priority over the Belgian, although the Gunners could return to the Leicester man later on in the window.

Tielemans has just a year remaining on his current Foxes deal and is open to leaving the King Power this summer. The addition of Fabio Vieira, despite his contrasting profile to the Leicester star, has seemingly eased the need for the club to sign another midfielder.
