Last summer signalled the beginning of the end for Bernd Leno at Arsenal. The club secured Aaron Ramsdale’s signature in a move that has since been proven brilliant. They received a young goalkeeper who excels as not only a shot-stopper, but with his distribution, too – a requirement growing in importance under Arteta.

Despite some cup games and the odd game against Aston Villa, Leno has been relegated to the role of backup keeper. He is certainly too good for that role. Still only 30 years old, he could move to several sides and serve as their number one. Arsenal would do well to facilitate this move.

Matt Turner will be joining up with the first-team squad this summer and any funds received from Leno could allow them to make otherwise costly transfers.
