2. Premier League familiarity

Tavares has also garnered interest from overseas, and while there’s some value in a young player gaining greater experience abroad, there’s nothing quite like the Premier League.

Time and time again we’ve seen talented young stars fail to make the grade in the English top-flight due to myriad factors. Tavares struggled in year one, but there’s certainly scope for him to blossom in north London.

Thus, staying in England as opposed to moving abroad for a year would benefit Tavares massively. He needs to mature in all facets of play and adjust to the demanding nature of the division.

Spending a campaign away from the high-pressure environment of the Emirates, but remaining in the highly competitive Premier League is exactly what Tavares needs. Otherwise, he could quite easily drift away to another European league without learning, maturing, or developing.
