3. Arteta-ball creates havoc

The way Mikel Arteta wants his Arsenal side to play is becoming more apparent with each passing game, and against Chelsea, we saw it in its full, devastating effect. The Blues had no answer to the Gunners’ high press and tenacious midfield, and when they did get forward, Gabriel and William Saliba swept up with ease.

The first half was as dominant as you could get, and considering the opponent, that is impressive. Chelsea didn’t have time to think before being chased down and they were often forced to dump it long into the waiting arms of the Gunners’ defence.

The blueprint is there. Play up to that level, and Arsenal will get the better of most sides. What was also pleasing is that when the foot was off the gas, defensively through the midfield and the back four, Chelsea did not find that much joy.

Overall, a sensational performance.
