3 positives and negatives from Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth
It was a dominant performance by the Gunners in a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Matchday 3.
Arsenal’s third win on the bounce means they climbed to the top of the Premier League table ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday and supporters have plenty to be excited about.
3 positives and negatives from Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth
So, what stood out in this win? Here are three positives and negatives from the win over the Cherries.
Positive #1: Martin Ødegaard
Martin has found his shooting boots! A maiden Premier League brace for the captain today was a fantastic result for him after a slow start to the season.
After an insane Gabriel Jesus run and Gabriel Martinelli shot, he was there to finish the rebound and he was also in the right place again in the box when Jesus’ touch went further than intended.
It is great to see the shooting instinct coming into play and, hopefully, he continues to build on that in the coming weeks and months.
Negative #1: Should have been more
This was a dominant performance, without a doubt, but there could have been more from Arsenal – in the second half in particular.
Granted, if Jesus had been declared onside by a sliver of a margin, we could be having a different conversation but there is no doubt that Arsenal took their foot off the gas a bit after they went 2-0 ahead after 11 minutes.
It was still a resounding performance, and this is probably being greedy because Bournemouth never really seemed to be that threatening, there wasn’t all that much need to run the score up to 5/6-0.
