Positive #3: Fabio Vieira’s cameo

He only got on the pitch for the last 15 minutes, but it was awesome to get a first look at Fabio Vieira for Arsenal.

It’s unfortunate that we missed out on getting to see him play in pre-season but it’s great to see him finally make his debut for the club. He looked bright during the time we got to see him: very progressive in his style, and not afraid to make some dangerous passes.

I’m looking forward to what will hopefully be his first start against FC Zurich on Thursday.

Negative #3: Centre-backs struggle

Gabriel and William Saliba did not have their best matches for Arsenal at Old Trafford. The former didn’t cover himself in glory for United’s first goal, while the latter, who’s been nothing short of a sensation this season, dropped far too deep in the lead-up to the opener before he got his feet in a tangle on the second goal.

These two have been very solid this season and I have no doubts they’ll bounce back but this was a miserable outing for both.

It’s frustrating to lose, especially to a rival like Manchester United, but we can’t afford to get caught up in singular matches. We’ve got a great team and they’ll lose more games this season. I’m sure we’ll bounce back against Zurich in the week before Everton arrive at the Emirates on Sunday.
