Let the rich get richer!

There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t already been said by my colleagues but, man, Erling Haaland is a sure way to ‘win the window’. People aren’t even talking about the acquisitions of other high-quality players like Julian Alverez, Sergio Gomez, and Kalvin Phillips. They’ve had an incredible window despite some high-profile exits.

I spoke with Da Windy City blogger and Manchester City fan Adam Rosen about how the Cityzens fared this summer:

1. What are your overall thoughts on City’s window?

"“Man City had a stellar window. Extremely high-quality players were added, we filled our biggest hole by adding a superstar striker who’s 22 years old, got a better substitute keeper, and we’ve now got plenty of defensive depth. It was a shame to lose Sterling, Jesus, and Zinny, though.”"

2. What club do you think won the window and why?

"“I’m biased but I think City won the window. They got a superstar striker for pretty cheap, and they made a ton of other acquisitions while also making a boatload of profit. They had a net gain of about £20m. I’d also argue Arsenal won because they got a young talented striker in Jesus, as well as ZInchenko; two players who are going to blossom (and have already shown it) with more time.”"

3.    What do you think of Arsenal’s window?

"“I think Arsenal had an 8/10 window, I really like the summer they had; getting plenty of young talented players in with winning experience. Sure, they might not have made much money, but I think, in the long run, it won’t matter because they added enough talent to finish in the top four.”"
