Brentford clash a chance for Arsenal to get their groove back
By Adam Schultz
Arsenal will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to Brentford after a mini hiatus from football due to the Queen’s passing.
Continuity and flow are what most Premier League teams are after. From games on the weekend to midweek cup ties, there is a flow to the season that keeps everything in check.
Due to the Queen’s passing, Arsenal’s last two scheduled fixtures were postponed which has somewhat disrupted the Gunners’ rhythm.
While it will be just ten days with no action once Sunday rolls around, Arsenal were getting into the flow of the new season and looking forward to kicking off their Europa League campaign, which they did thanks to a 2-1 win over FC Zurich.

But now, having two games postponed means an already condensed fixture list is about to get even more cramped.
Nevertheless, on Sunday, regular hostilities are renewed as Mikel Arteta’s side return to Premier League action against Brentford.
Last season, the Bees bullied a vastly different Arsenal side on opening night in a 2-0 triumph. Fast forward to now, and the Gunners are a much tougher proposition for Thomas Frank to combat.
While the break in games has not been good for some fans, it has allowed Thomas Partey to return to full training and he’s in line to return to the side for the game against the Bees. That is welcome news as Arsenal look to get back to winning ways in the league after a 3-1 loss to Manchester United last time out.
The Gunners had swept all before them ahead of the trip to Old Trafford and they quickly returned to winning ways in Switzerland last Thursday.
Now, facing a Brentford side that are eighth in the Premier League table, Arsenal will have a fight on their hands to secure all three points. With the first North London Derby on the horizon, it’s imperative that victory is secured on Sunday before the international break.
Mikel Arteta will no doubt have his side up for the weekend’s clash, and with Thomas Partey returning, football is back, and that is something we can all get behind.
