Brentford vs Arsenal – 3 things to look for
By Adam Schultz
Arsenal returns to Premier League action against Brentford and will be looking to maintain its position at the top of the table.
Football is back. While other teams have played fixtures over the last week, Arsenal hasn’t. Now, a tricky away fixture against Brentford is what Mikel Arteta’s side faces.
After some fixture reshuffling, the Gunners are ready to go and will finally get to play a meaningful game. It has been a couple of weeks since their last game as clashes against Everton and PVS had to be postponed due to the Queen’s passing. Now, are we look ahead to Brentford.
Here are three things to look for in Arsenal’s clash with Thomas Frank’s side.
How will Arsenal start?
For the most part, we have seen this season that the Gunners start games well. Often going straight at the opposition to get an early goal which has worked on several occasions.
Brentford is difficult to play at home and has been unbeaten in all competitions since August 24. In their last Premier League clash, they put Leeds to the sword in a 5-2 thumping. But after sitting idle since September 9, what kind of Arsenal will we see start the game?
It presents a banana skin game for Mikel Arteta’s side, and they can ill-afford a sloppy start. Nabbing a quick goal to silence the home crowd or as they did against Crystal Palace, own possession and almost pound Brentford into submission.
How the team starts with their energy and commitment in the opening 15 minutes will tell us a lot about what to expect for the next 75 minutes.
