3 positives and negatives from Arsenal’s NLD triumph
NORTH LONDON IS RED.
Another year, another 3-1 North London derby victory at home. Wins against Spurs are always wonderful and this one is no different where once again, it is hard to find many negatives.
3 positives and negatives from Arsenal’s NLD triumph
But to do my job in being fair and balanced, I’m happy to oblige, here are three positives and three negatives from a resounding win.
Positive #1: William Saliba
Once again, Wilo finds himself in the positive column after a match. It’s getting a bit repetitive with him and Gabriel Jesus (spoiler for positive two) taking two spots in the positives, but I can’t help it, he was once again phenomenal.
The young Frenchman has still managed to not be dribbled past in the Premier League and he did a particularly good job on Son Heung-min this time around. He’s an imposing presence defensively, assured on the ball, and has arguably been the best centre-back in the league so far this season.
Sign da ting.
Negative #1: Gabriel
Unfortunately, Saliba’s partner in central defence goes on the negative side of the article. It was a poor challenge on Richarlison to give up a penalty which brought Spurs back into the game.
Luckily for Gabriel, Arsenal got the win, but it was disappointing to see the very talented player produce another individual error. If there’s a weak link in this Gunners’ backline, it’s the aggressive Brazilian.
He’s still young and has the ability to smooth out his game. But, until then, another mistake could haunt Arsenal.
