Positive #3: Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli’s been on another level this season, and he caused so many issues for Spurs down that left-hand side. He’s playing with so much confidence and is only getting better. Emerson Royal couldn’t touch him until his studs caught Gabi’s shin which saw Anthony Taylor brandish a red card.

I don’t have enough good things to say about him as a player and that performance.

Negative #3: Control

Tricked again! I bet you feel really dumb right now with this being another positive! Arsenal controlled the game outside of a ten-minute bright period for Spurs either side of their equaliser.

Over 20 passes went into the opening goal with Spurs happy to sit back and invite pressure. Arsenal answered the invitation. Given both teams’ styles, this makes a lot of sense but the Gunners took advantage of their control for a great 3-1 win.
