Arsenal secured a 3-0 win over FK Bodø/Glimt at the Emirates on Thursday night. First-half goals from Eddie Nketiah, Rob Holding and a late Fabio Vieira strike sealed the three points.

As expected, Mikel Arteta made a whole host of changes from the side that defeated Spurs 3-1 at the weekend, with only Granit Xhaka, Gabriel, and Gabriel Martinelli retaining their places as Eddie Nketiah led the line.

It was a decent start from the Gunners, and they broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute as Nketiah rounded off a swift counter-attack with an instinctive tap-in.

Arsenal doubled their lead just minutes later. Fabio Vieira whipped in a superb ball, and Rob Holding got in front of his marker and headed home with authority to give the Gunners a 2-0 lead before the 30-minute mark. It was a dominant half from Arsenal as they were in complete control of the game heading into half-time.

A rather dour second half came to life in the closing stages as a mazy run from Gabriel Jesus ended with the Brazilian teeing up Fabio Vieira for his first goal at the Emirates.

With cup competitions being the striker’s main chance to start for Arsenal, Nketiah needs to make those chances count, and boy is he doing exactly that!

Nketiah has been on the score sheet in Arsenal’s two Europa League games and has an assist as well. A typical poachers finish tonight got things started for the home side as he continues his good run of form.
