Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are so MASSIVE that Thursday’s Europa League opponents, FK Bodø/Glimt, have asked their supporters to not wear any Arsenal colours for their visit.

Arteta’s side have enjoyed an excellent start to the 2022/23 campaign and they have the chance to take complete control of Group A in Norway on Matchday 4 (although, they’ve only played twice).

Arsenal are two from two in the group and they beat Bodø/Glimt 3-0 in the first meeting at the Emirates last week. The upcoming encounter, however, is expected to be much trickier given the cold temperatures and artificial playing surface. The Norwegian champions, meanwhile, are keen for their fans to not make life any easier for the Premier League visitors.

There is an official Arsenal supporters club in Norway and the arrival of national team skipper Martin Odegaard has only increased the club’s popularity in that part of the world.

Thus, Bodø/Glimt issued a statement ahead of the Gunners’ visit on Thursday asking supporters to not wear any Arsenal-branded clothing at the Aspmyra Stadion.

The statement read (via The Athletic): “There are many Arsenal supporters in Norway and many have both Glimt and Arsenal close to their hearts. Therefore, we see it as appropriate to remind you that Arsenal effects are only allowed in the away end.

“This means that we will ask you to remove scarves, caps, t-shirts, jackets etcetera if these have the Arsenal logo or similar on them.

“However, we make an exception for match scarves or half-and-half scarves as this has become a common thing in stadiums around the world. Half-and-half scarves are the only exception.

“There will be some areas on the long sides where Arsenal are entitled to tickets. In these areas and from their guests, we will accept away effects.”

Life isn’t expected to be as comfortable for the Gunners this time around as it was at the Emirates a week ago. The unusual environment combined with a raucous home crowd – that certainly won’t be wearing any swanky Arsenal gear – render Thursday’s encounter a very tricky one, perhaps the toughest of the group stage.
