Arsenal secured a gritty 1-0 win over Leeds United on Sunday afternoon. A first-half Bukayo strike was enough to secure all three points as the Gunners remained at the summit of the Premier League table.

Following a 40-minute delay after the contest had just got underway Arsenal would take the lead in the opening period, and Saka’s opener proved to be the winner. After an odd pass from Rodrigo, the ball found its way to Saka. The winger then laid the ball off to Martin Odegaard, and the Norwegian slid in a delightful pass for the in-form winger.

On his opposite side, the winger lashed home from a difficult angle past Illan Meslier and into the net. That would be the only goal as the home side huffed and puffed, but to no avail, as the Gunners escaped with a critical 1-0 win. The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

1. Saka in a rich vein of form

Saka’s start to the season was slow by his lofty standards, but the Gunners’ starboy has exploded in recent weeks. Against Leeds, he scored in his third consecutive game for Arsenal.

The Gunners will want to secure his services as soon as possible with his contract status still up in the air. Last season, Saka scored 11 league goals through his 38 games; he’s already on four through ten this season.

The 21-year-old is bang in form.
