Aaron Ramsdale credits Mikel Arteta’s coaching for Leeds win

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has revealed that Mikel Arteta’s coaching and tactics were a vital feature of the team’s narrow 1-0 win away at Leeds.
The Gunners got lucky. Against Leeds, Mikel Arteta’s side, flying high at the top of the league table, ran into serious pushback.
While they managed to get the win without playing well (as good teams do), they were made to work extremely hard for it.

Aaron Ramsdale was essential to the Gunners’ win, and the English shot-stopper said post-game that Arteta was central to the team’s victory.
“He plans for everything,” Ramsdale said via football.london. “To the finest detail, he will plan for things. He’ll plan different formations, how they play, how we play, etcetera. We know how to do it; we haven’t had to do it this season which has been good for us because it means we’re in control of games.
“But to do it here, especially here – it’s a really tough place to come and win – it’s a credit to his staff for getting us into a position to do it. We’ve done it out there today, the 13, 14 of us who were on the pitch.”
It is a credit to the growing mentality of this Arsenal side that managed to get ahead and stay ahead of a Leeds team desperate for three points.
Bukayo Saka’s strike in the first half was enough to earn the win, but the second half saw the Gunners ride their luck. A penalty to Patrick Bamford was missed before Gabriel almost cost his side two points in injury time.
The defender was sent off after a coming together between the Brazilian and Bamford, with Leeds being awarded a penalty.
However, after a VAR intervention, Chris Kavanagh’s decision was reversed.
Arsenal rode their luck in this one, but for Ramsdale, Mikel Arteta was another player on the pitch with his tactics and coaching.
Whatever the Spaniard is doing, it’s working. The Gunners are well-equipped to maintain the rage at the top of the table (four points clear, if you don’t mind) and looking at a favourable fixture run.
The luck will run out eventually, but for now, Arsenal are putting its best foot forward.
