Ivorian international Ibrahim Sangare was highly coveted during his time at Toulouse, but it was PSV who won the race for his signature in 2020. And what a coup he’s proven to be!

Sitting at the base of PSV’s midfield, Sangare is a physical behemoth who has the technical ability to match. He’s super athletic, and the ease at which he covers ground means he’s incredibly difficult to bypass in transition.

With the ball, Sangare loves to seek out the most progressive passing option while his press resistance allows him to play in the tightest of spaces and find the most acute angles.

The Ivorian excels in all phases, and it’s easy to gauge why both Chelsea and Manchester United were keen on acquiring the midfielder in the summer. Sangare loves doing the dirty work without the ball, and last season he registered the most combined tackles (95) and interceptions (74) in the Eredivisie.

The 24-year-old is the glue that holds Van Nistelrooy’s side together.
