Thomas Partey (DM) – 5.5/10 – A game of two halves for Partey. Southampton’s shape meant he had all the time in the world in the build-up phase, and he was excellent without the ball in the first-half. Got sloppy somewhat after the restart.

Granit Xhaka (CM) – 7.5/10 – The man just can’t do anything wrong right now. Xhaka took his goal with the utmost conviction amid yet another dogged display in the middle of the park. Unlike most of his teammates, his intensity never waned.

Martin Odegaard (CM) – 7/10 – How did Odegaard end this contest without an assist?! The Norwegian was the ‘linker’ in this one, producing some killer passes in behind the Saints defence but with no reward.
