3. Missed chances prove costly

If there is anything to take out of the draw at Southampton, it’s to take your chances. Arsenal were on top in the first half and, in all truth, should have been ahead by at least two goals, if not more.

But numerous chances were wasted, allowing the Saints to stay in the game. Being away from home that’s not something Arsenal can afford to do.

It is a learning curve still for Arteta’s young team, but chances must be taken when they present themselves.
