Arsenal need just a point away at PSV on Thursday to qualify for the Europa League round of 16 after enjoying a 100% start to the competition through four group games.

Mikel Arteta hasn’t been afraid to rotate his side for Arsenal’s Group A bouts thus far, and his players have responded on the pitch. The north London outfit secured a big win last Thursday in their rescheduled clash against Thursday’s opponents and they’re in full control of the group as a result.

However, their winning momentum was snatched away by Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday as they were held to a rare draw. It was just the second time the Gunners have dropped points all season.

While Arteta will undoubtedly want to claim an impressive victory in Eindhoven on Thursday, a point will suffice for the Gunners.

PSV Team News

PSV are getting healthier on the injury front, but they’ll still be without Yorbe Vertessen, Marco van Ginkel, Ismael Saibari, Kjell Peersman and Olivier Boscagli (knee) for Arsenal’s visit.

Noni Madueke has appeared off the bench in the Dutch side’s last two games, adding some impetus at the Emirates last week. The Englishman may be in contention to start this one following a lengthy injury layoff.

Luuk de Jong could replace Guus Til up front.

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Arteta is expected to follow a similar theme regarding team selection for Thursday’s clash in Eindhoven.

The Europa League core will remain and they’ll likely be bolstered by the inclusions of Gabriel, Granit Xhaka, and Gabriel Martinelli.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is still an injury concern for the visitors, while Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe are out.

Prediction

PSV were disappointing at the Emirates, barely offering anything going forward as the Gunners dominated. A completely different performance is required by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men, and they’ll certainly be helped by the home crowd.

The hosts showed glimpses of their talent last time out and they, without question, have the capacity to hurt the Gunners on Thursday.

Arteta will rotate his pack and reintroduce the Europa League core for this one, and I suspect the away side will be in for a much more challenging contest compared to last time out.

I’ll back the visitors stealing a point, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see PSV prevail.

Prediction: PSV 1-1 Arsenal
