2. The ‘Big Guns’ didn’t show

As mentioned earlier, Arteta only made five changes to the side that failed to win at St Mary’s. However, the performance was not what we have been used to seeing from them this season. It was ill-disciplined, sloppy on the ball and it lacked the control that we have become accustomed to seeing from Arteta’s side.

Even after the Spaniard turned to the bench to bring on Thomas Partey, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, there still was little creative and attacking output from Arsenal. This may come down to player fatigue taking its toll due to the busy October, but Arteta will hope this was just a blip in the usually well-oiled Arsenal system.
