Positive #3: Kieren Tierney

It’s been a tough season so far for KT with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Tomiyasu proving to be tough competition for the left-back spot, but he had a great performance in the match – headlined by his goal that would prove to be the winner in the match.

He’s a quality player so if he can keep putting performances like this together he can win his spot back in the starting XI.

This is a huge opportunity for him coming up against Chelsea; Zinchenko has just come back from injury and it could be too soon for him to start while Tomiyasu is unlikely to be fit after being forced off in this one.

Negative #3: Need to score more

Arsenal won the match, that’s what’s important but the margin shouldn’t have been that thin against the team currently last in the Swiss Super League. Arsenal deserved more and the xG proved that, it just has to come down to the finishing if the Gunners want to go far in the UEL and the PL.

This was a valuable win for the Gunners, nonetheless, and I’m looking forward to the knockouts in March.
