Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard says the team deserved the win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

He’s right.

Speaking to Arsenal media post-game, the Gunners captain was full of praise for his team and stated that this is how they want to play.

"“I think it was a big win,” he said. “I think we deserved the win and we controlled the game. We were the more dominant team throughout the whole game, and we got the goal in the end. The way we protected the box, and the goal after that, and also the smartness we have on the ball to keep it in difficult situations.“This is the way we want to play, you know? Also away from home, to be able to control these games and be the more dominant team.”"

Arsenal were dominant alright.

Some of the Gunners’ passing sequences took our breath away. From back to front, the one-touch slick passing rendered Chelsea looking like training cones. Again, on their home deck.

The performance shows the growing confidence and belief that this young team is playing with, and they took it to their once-feared rivals without ever looking back.

William Saliba was again world-class as he handled Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with ease. So much so that the former Arsenal captain was substituted after just 64 minutes having only registered eight touches.

Dominant.

Having already played most of the ‘big’ teams in the league (Manchester City aside), the Gunners have won three out of four, and you can argue that against Manchester United, they were by far the superior team.

With just one league game to go before the World Cup, Arsenal and Mikel Arteta will want to end their first half of the season (almost halfway) on a high. Consolidate their position at the top of the Premier League with a win over Wolves.

Heading into the season, the top four was the aim. That looks more than obtainable.

Perhaps more is on the horizon for this exciting young Gunners outfit.
