Thomas Partey – A: Fingers crossed he remains injury free during the second half of the season. Partey’s missed just three league games so far which is why Arsenal have been so good. He’s the Gunners’ glue.

Mohamed Elneny – B-: Efficient when used, but Elneny missed a big chunk of the season due to injury.

Sambi Lokonga – C-: One of few disappointments. Lokonga teased his promise last season despite not featuring much, but he hasn’t taken the leap that some projected so far in 2022/23. The Belgian does talk a good game, though.

Granit Xhaka – A+: Xhaka may well be the Player of the Season so far. I questioned whether he could sustain his renaissance at the start of the campaign but he has totally proved me wrong. His more advanced function has seen him notch six Premier League goal contributions through 14 games.

Martin Odegaard – A: There’s a subtle brilliance to Odegaard’s game that just makes you fall in love with him. He’s the creative hub of this free-flowing Arsenal side and a valuable leader in the dressing room. The Norwegian international is currently the club’s leading scorer in the league with six goals.

Fabio Vieira – C: We’ve got to be patient with Fabio Vieira. He’s yet to take over a contest and has flattered to deceive at times. However, there have been signs of promise.

Emile Smith Rowe – C: I cannot wait to see this guy back in action.
