The Premier League have confirmed the date for Arsenal’s home clash against Manchester City which was postponed back in October.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II meant the Gunners’ Europa League tie with PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates had to be rescheduled and the league game with City succumbed as a result.

The two games with Pep Guardiola’s side will now arrive in the second half of the season and, who knows, they could go a long way in determining who lifts the Premier League title come the end of the season.

Arsenal headed into the World Cup break five points clear at the top of the table, but City will undoubtedly come on strong in 2023.

Regarding the rescheduled fixture, Arsenal wrote: “Our home Premier League clash with Manchester City has been rearranged for Wednesday, February 15.

“The game was previously arranged for October 19 but was postponed to allow us to fulfil our Europa League commitments.

“It will be a 7:30pm kick-off at Emirates Stadium and shown live on Amazon Prime Video.

“The game falls between our home game against Brentford the previous Saturday, as well as a trip to Aston Villa the following weekend,” the club concluded.

The Gunners have a tough and frantic start to the new year before they face City for the first time as matches against Newcastle, Tottenham, and Manchester United occupy January.

Mikel Arteta will hope that his side are still very much in the running by the time his mentor visits the Emirates on February 15. Arsenal produced a stellar performance against the Cityzens at the Emirates last season but eventually fell to a disheartening 2-1 defeat.

Nevertheless, this rearranged clash is poised to be a cracker and I’m sure many supporters will pencil in that day as potentially a defining one in the Gunners’ season.
