Arsenal scored three times in the second half as they beat Oxford United 3-0 on Monday night to progress into the FA Cup fourth round.

The hosts competed well in the opening period as a heavily rotated Gunners produced a dire first-half showing that would’ve infuriated Mikel Arteta.

Thus, the visitors brightened up after the break with Bukayo Saka coming close to breaking the deadlock before Mohamed Elneny bagged the opener by heading home Fabio Vieira’s wicked free-kick.

From there, Arsenal cruised as Eddie Nketiah scored twice to put the Gunners 3-0 ahead. Emile Smith Rowe’s long-awaited return was the icing on the cake as Arteta’s side, donning all white, eventually waltzed into the fourth round where they’ll face Manchester City at the Etihad.

Matt Turner (GK) – 6/10 – The American barely had a save to make, but his hands were steady when he went up to claim the high ball.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (RB) – 6/10 – A little bit rusty in the first half but his second-half showing was more encouraging. Struggled going forward but didn’t have an issue defending one-vs-one.

Rob Holding (CB) – 5.5/10 – The centre-back was okay, but if Oxford were going to cause an upset their most likely route to go seemed to be a Holding error. He just doesn’t fill anybody with confidence.

Gabriel (CB) – 6.5/10 – Had absolutely no issues dealing with Oxford’s tame attacking threat and was cool in possession throughout the contest. Gabriel’s really coming along.

Kieran Tierney (LB) – 5/10 – His long throws were the most impressive aspect of his game on Monday night. Tierney ventured forward with plenty of industry but offered little quality in the final third. Substituted on the hour.
