Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal: Player Ratings as Gunners dominate rivals
By Adam Schultz
Arsenal completed the league double over Tottenham with a resounding 2-0 win on Sunday afternoon. A first-half howler from Hugo Lloris and a Martin Odegaard wonder strike sealed the win early on.
Mikel Arteta named an unchanged side from the one that drew 0-0 at Newcastle as the Gunners looked to do the league double over their bitter rivals for the first time since 2013/14.
It was a scintillating first half from the Gunners as they were on a different level to Spurs. The dominance was rewarded early after a Lloris howler allowed Bukayo Saka’s shot to find its way into the net.
Arsenal continued to dominate proceedings as Odegaard doubled his side’s lead before the break with a superb long-range goal as the visitors obliterated Spurs on their home deck.
The hosts looked the better side early in the second half but couldn’t find a way through a stout Arsenal defence.
Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal player ratings
Arsenal saw out the game as they notched a comfortable 2-0 win and moved eight points clear at the summit of the Premier League. Here are the player ratings.
Goalkeepers and Defenders
Aaron Ramsdale (GK) 7/10 – Made a couple of huge saves when his team needed him. Reminiscent of his form last season.
Ben White (RB) 7/10 – Another good outing from White. Defensively sound and got forward at every opportunity. Overlapped several times as he and Saka again worked well together.
William Saliba (CB) 7/10 – The Frenchman had a good outing and, like his partner, kept Harry Kane quiet all day as the striker barely got a sniff at goal.
Gabriel (CB) 7/10 – Marshalled Kane superbly well and kept him quiet all day. The Spurs striker had little influence.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) 7/10 – Easy on the eye and was a constant outlet throughout. Moved into midfield on several occasions as he kept the team ticking over nicely—another good outing.
