Eddie Nketiah struck a late winner as Arsenal secured a huge 3-2 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday evening.

A captivating first half, one that resembled the titanic contests between these two sides at their vintage apexes, ended one apiece as Nketiah cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s emphatic opener with a fine header.

The enthralling nature of the bout continued into the second period as Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal their first lead of the game with a stunning finish from distance before Lisandro Martinez restored parity with a chipped header of some sort.

Tension subsequently consumed the Emirates, but the Gunners responded as they dominated the closing stages. The visitors were subject to wave after wave of Arsenal attacks, with David de Gea producing a huge save to deny Nketiah before the Arsenal striker flicked home a late winner to seal a massive three points for the Premier League leaders.

Aaron Ramsdale (GK) – 6/10 – Made a wonderful save to deny Rashford just minutes before his fumble led to Martinez’s equaliser. A mixed bag for the Arsenal goalkeeper.

Ben White (RB) – 4.5/10 – Uncharacteristically poor in the first half and was substituted at half-time after he picked up a booking for a rash challenge on Rashford.

William Saliba (CB) – 6.5/10 – Patrolled his channel well while Rashford ran riot down the touchline. Tidy in possession.

Gabriel (CB) – 6.5/10 – Battled well with the useful Wout Weghorst, winning a few big headers against the towering Dutchman.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) – 8/10 – After a relatively quiet opening period, Zinchenko took control in the second half as he drifted infield to overload United’s midfield. Some of his passes were nothing short of genius.
