Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Saturday as they make the trip to Goodison Park for Sean Dyche’s first game as Everton boss.

A lot has gone down in north London since the Gunners beat Man Utd 3-2 two weeks ago. Mikel Arteta’s side were dumped out of the FA Cup by Man City last Friday and have acquired the services of Italian international Jorginho after they failed in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo.

While Arsenal’s January transfer window wasn’t perfect, there’s no doubt that the squad is stronger and capable of competing on multiple fronts during the second half of the season.

However, a tricky test awaits this weekend as a familiar foe attempts to compromise Arsenal’s title bid. A previously despondent Goodison Park will be bouyant this weekend with Dyche occupying the home dugout.

Dyche’s Burnley were a bit of a bogey side for the Gunners, and his Everton outfit will be expected to be similarly stingy.

Everton Team News

Frank Lampard primarily used a 4-3-3 before his sacking, but Dyche is expected to revert to his traditional 4-4-2 at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The ex-Burnley boss will be without Michael Keane, Andros Townsend and Nathan Patterson this weekend, while James Garner and Ben Godfrey are doubts.

Neal Maupay could partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top with Dwight McNeil poised to return to the fold down the left.

Arsenal Team News

Mohamed Elneny’s knee injury is set to sideline him for an extended period, with new signing Jorginho brought in as a replacement for the Egyptian to provide cover for Thomas Partey.

There are no other fresh injury concerns for Arteta, with Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson still missing.

Thus, it’s expected to be yet another unchanged XI from Arsenal’s last Premier League outing.

Prediction

Will Arsenal succumb to the new manager bounce phenomenon on Saturday? Dyche’s arrival should facilitate a resurgence at Goodison Park, but will his impact be immediate?

He couldn’t have asked for a tougher first encounter as the Premier League leaders come to town, and Arsenal have looked borderline unstoppable when Arteta’s been able to deploy his full-strength starting XI.

There’s no denying that this is suddenly a tricky game for the Gunners, and I expect Dyche’s stubborn 4-4-2 combined with the Goodison Park faithful to make life difficult for the visitors. But how can I bet against Arteta’s juggernaut?

Prediction: Everton 1-2 Arsenal
