A resounding comeback win against Aston Villa has buoyed the feeling around the club. Gaining momentum again will be key as Arsenal look to build a gap between themselves and Manchester City once again. Leicester City provides a good opportunity for Arsenal to do so.

The first-half performance was flat at Villa Park, with several players failing to impress. To secure a win this weekend, everyone must be firing.

Individual and collective performances need to be at the level we have been used to seeing this season. Arsenal cannot stumble out of the gates again, especially against a side as filled with quality as Leicester are.

3 players crucial to securing away win at Leicester

That being said, here are three players that are crucial to securing a win away at Leicester.

1. Ben White

With Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury still plaguing him before the start of the season, many fans questioned the future position. Who would take his place? Would Arsenal have to sign another right back? Fortunately, Mikel Arteta decided to deploy Ben White there and the latter has gone from strength to strength.

He overlaps and crosses well, although he could vary his deliveries more. He also stays compact in defence, often marshalling opposing attackers with ease. Last weekend, his attacking contributions further up the pitch were marred by a glaring error at the other end, sticking too tight to Villa’s winger before being taken out of the play with a simple through ball. White must be completely switched on for the entire game against Leicester.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison all gravitate to their left-hand side, where White is deployed defensively. While the midfielders will do their best to stop Leicester’s forays forward at source, the Englishman must be wary of incisive runs in behind. Additionally, should Leicester drop deep and overload the midfield, a tactic that was worked well for other teams in recent weeks, the width he provides with his overlaps will be essential to stretching the pitch and providing space for other attackers.

We are all waiting for another brilliant interview after a brilliant win against the Foxes.
