Gabriel has been nothing short of monstrous this season. Especially thriving in away games, the Brazilian provides everything needed to secure a clean sheet. His entire game was on display against the Foxes. He was as aerially dominant in defence as he was in attack, proving to be a serious set-piece threat.

Gabriel also covered the channels well, defending in space as Arsenal piled on the pressure. The security he provides is crucial as attackers can focus fully on breaking down the opposition’s defences.

He also played a role in the goal, clearing/passing it to Trossard before Leicester was able to set up their low block. While he may be slightly limited in his passing and press resistance, he is undoubtedly Arsenal’s best out-and-out defender. Long may his good form continue.

Despite the win, Arteta’s team still looks to be finding their form after stumbling in recent weeks. Yet as the saying goes, good teams can win ugly. And winning ugly is exactly what Arsenal did against Leicester. The three players above were decisive in securing another win and another three points.
