Arsenal are holding firm to their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

The title is an 11-game stretch away. In order to fulfil, what I have been documenting as the Gunners’ destiny, there are three vital factors Arsenal must pay attention to.

1. Extend the lead at the top

Manchester City do not play another Premier League game until after the international break.

They are currently chasing Arsenal in first place who sit five points clear. The north London team play Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace before domestic football is put on hold, and Arteta must ensure that an extra three points are tacked on to the remarkable point tally that the club currently has.

The fact of the matter is the Citizens will play just as many games as the Gunners in the Premier League, but coming back from international duty and facing an eight-point deficit is much more daunting. The added pressure of having to win that game in hand for fear of losing the race there and then is a monumental disadvantage that now faces Pep Guardiola’s team.

With a win over Palace, the Gunners will force Manchester City to get a result against the up-and-down Liverpool on 1 April.
