Emery’s first season at the club promised so much, but the Gunners would end 2018/19 flat on their face. Their only saving grace was Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham in the Champions League final.

Emery had worked his magic once more to guide the Gunners into the final, but they were swatted aside by London rivals Chelsea in the competition’s showpiece event. The Blues battered Arsenal 4-1 in what was a bleak, bleak night for the club and its supporters.

The days in between their Baku battering and the Champions League final were nothing short of torturous.
