Despite Brighton refusing to sell Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window, they may be willing to let him go this summer. It’s hard to blame a club for not letting one of their best players go in a season where they might qualify for European football for the first time in the club’s history, even if Arsenal offered them £70m.

Reportedly, Arsenal still sees Caicedo as a priority transfer this summer despite missing out on him in January. Caicedo is more of a defensive midfielder than a traditional box-to-box, but Gaspar and Arteta would have to be convinced about his ability to play alongside Partey rather than just compete with him in order to justify the transfer. While Caicedo only ranks in the 61st percentile in progressive passes and 32nd percentile in progressive carries compared to other midfielders, it may be partly due to how Brighton use the midfielder.

With Jorginho now signed through next season and looking like he belongs in this Arsenal team, the Gunners may be looking for a midfielder with more capability going forward. Their previous interest in the player, however, is undeniable.
