Arsenal vs Leeds United: 3 key battles in Emirates Stadium showdown
By Kenneth Daly
Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League table could be trimmed to five points by the time they take on Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners have rattled off six straight domestic wins to keep Man City at bay after the Citizens claimed victory at the Emirates in February.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for supporters thus far, and the thrills and spills are only set to continue down the final stretch. Arsenal’s run-in begins against Javi Gracia’s injury-riddled outfit this weekend, and here are three key battles that could determine the contest.

Battle #1: Rob Holding vs Patrick Bamford
Light work for someone who passed the Erling Haaland test?
Back issues for Saliba mean Rob Holding will likely earn just his second league start of the season here, and his meagre technical ability might spell danger against a high-pressing Leeds side.
The visitors’ dynamism is epitomised by Bamford who can drop deep to combine with teammates or play on the shoulder and run in behind, while he also excels at harrying opponents and will punish Arsenal if turnovers are forced in our half – a risk somewhat heightened by Holding’s involvement.
To his credit, ‘Holdini’ performed well in admittedly different circumstances a fortnight ago and adds a considerable aerial presence that can help combat Leeds’ direct approach. Furthermore, the relative passivity of Gracia’s high block indicates our centre-backs will have time on the ball and the control we exert on games should save Holding from transitional exposure.
He’s stepped up when needed before and must do so again on Saturday.
